Below are some sketches I did while walking across northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago a few years ago. Those of you who have done this incredible historical, religious and spiritual walk may recognize some of the places. Those of you who haven't walked the Camino - I highly recommend it as an experience you'll remember your whole lives!
The View from my bedroom window in Sarria
The Bridge at Puente la Reina
Crossing the Pyrenees
St Jean Pied de Porte
The Arch in Sahagun
"I have one of Gareth’s beautiful Camino paintings, 'Pilgrim’s Way'. For me, having walked on the same road of the scene depicted, the painting is so evocative and reflective of my own journey and it captures wonderfully that moment, that day, that place so vividly"
